WATCH: Let Pierre Gasly guide you around a lap of the thrilling Imola circuit
Formula 1 may not have raced at Imola since 2006. But earlier this year, AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly got to sample the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari – to give the track its proper name – in his 2020 car, making him the perfect guide to this storied northern Italian circuit.
Imola has been frequently altered over the years, not least following the tragic deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger at the track in 1994 – while there have been changes since F1 last raced here too, with the fiddly and not very popular Variante Bassa chicane hoiked out, meaning the drivers now run full-chat all the way from the second of the Rivazza left-handers down to Tamburello.
Let Pierre Gasly guide you around a lap of Imola ahead of the inaugural Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in the video above.
