As the Formula 1 winter break takes hold we thought it would be the ideal time to roll back the years and shine a light on some of the most iconic cars in the history of the sport.
That’s right, F1 TV’s Sam Collins and Craig Scarborough are your guides for a special ‘Tech Talk Retro’ series that serves up a new offering every Monday to help bridge the gap to the new season.
TECH TUESDAY: The design features that made the Red Bull RB19 so special
First up is a closer look at the Renault RS01, which debuted at the 1977 British Grand Prix in the hands of Jean-Pierre Jabouille and made history as the first F1 car to be powered by a turbocharged engine.
Collins and Scarborough take you through all the special features of the car, while also teasing what’s to come with the likes of the McLaren MP4/13, the Ferrari 640 and the Mercedes F1 W05 Hybrid.
