Kimi Antonelli charged to pole position for the Miami Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen his nearest challenger.
Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli made it three pole positions in a row with a stunning lap during Saturday’s Miami Grand Prix Qualifying session.
Antonelli produced a time of 1m 27.798s with his opening run of the decisive Q3 phase, which was enough to beat Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by 0.166 seconds.
It adds to the poles Antonelli scored in China and Japan, as he heads into Sunday’s race with a seven-point championship lead over team mate George Russell, who starts back in fifth.
