Carlos Sainz will have delighted the Ferrari faithful after topping the FP2 timesheets with the fastest Friday lap at Monza.

The Spaniard gave himself a nice 29th birthday present by posting a 1m 21.355s lap around the ‘Temple of Speed’ in the second practice session of the 2023 Italian Grand Prix weekend, leading his former team mate Lando Norris by 0.019s.

Sainz will hope his pace continues through the weekend, with the tifosi keen to see a Ferrari success story play out at this year’s Italian Grand Prix.
