WATCH: Ride onboard with Russell for his storming home pole lap around Silverstone
George Russell produced a stunning lap in the dying moments of Q3 to claim pole position at Silverstone, eclipsing fellow Brits Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris for the top spot.
Russell’s time of 1m 25.819s put him just under two-tenths clear of Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton, while McLaren driver Norris made it three British drivers in the top three on their home soil.

Russell’s pole is his second of the 2024 season, having also sealed P1 in Canada, and he will be bidding to make it victory number two on Sunday after triumphing at the Red Bull Ring last time out.
