Lando Norris ended the opening day of action at the British Grand Prix on top, having set the fastest lap on Friday in front of his home fans at Silverstone.

After his dramatic retirement from the race last time out in Austria, Norris looked keen to bounce back as the weekend got underway in Great Britain, with the McLaren driver going quickest in FP1 before repeating the feat in second practice.

Norris topped the timesheets by pumping in a lap of 1m 26.549s on the soft tyre, giving him a margin of 0.331s over team mate Oscar Piastri.
