WATCH: Piastri makes bold overtake on Norris for P2 during Lap 1 in Abu Dhabi

Oscar Piastri looked in fighting form during the opening lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with the Australian making a bold overtake on team mate Lando Norris to move up into P2.

When the lights went out for the title-deciding event at the Yas Marina Circuit, Norris initially held off the other McLaren to stay in second place behind polesitter Max Verstappen.

However, Piastri – who started on the hard tyres, in contrast to the mediums on Verstappen and Norris’ cars – got into Norris’ slipstream later in the lap and surged around the outside at Turn 9, putting him up into second ahead of the championship leader.
