WATCH: Onboard for Verstappen's dramatic final laps in Sochi as he goes from P7 to P2
Max Verstappen started at the very back of the grid for the Russian Grand Prix but the Red Bull driver pulled off a sensational drive on Sunday, finishing second from 20th at Sochi. But he was running down in seventh just five laps from the end...
So how did the Dutchman make up five positions in the last five laps? Well, the race changed dramatically when the rain began to fall and he was brought in to the Red Bull pit box on Lap 48.
From then, his pace on intermediate tyres was rapid and Verstappen made it to the podium – passing a number of drivers including Ferrari's Carlos Sainz on his way to second place.
Go on board with Verstappen in the video above, which includes pit-to-driver radio messages and the raw sound of the Honda-powered Red Bull.
