WATCH: Hamilton locks up and goes straight on in crucial late Azerbaijan GP restart
When the field lined up for a late-race re-start in Azerbaijan, following the red flag brought about by Max Verstappen's dramatic crash, all eyes were on the front row of Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton.
Only moments earlier the Mercedes man had suggested at a cautious approach, telling his team - with title rival Verstappen already out of the picture - "it's a marathon not a sprint". When push came to shove, Hamilton got a better jump than Perez, but then undid all his hard work by locking up and going straight on at Turn 1, dropping him right out of the points.
Perez eventually cruised home to take a second career victory, while Hamilton came home in P15.
