One of the major talking points this weekend in Monaco has been Mercedes bringing their first major upgrade of the season. Sam Collins dissects it all, and the impact it could bring, on the latest instalment of F1 TV’s Tech Talk.
While many have noticed the different sidepods introduced on the W14, Collins takes a look at the team’s fascinating re-design of the front suspension, as he explains what exactly has changed on the front of the car to the last time we saw it in Miami.
Collins then compares the team’s new sidepods to the car they first brought out at the start of pre-season in Barcelona in 2022 and the one later brought to the track for testing in Bahrain a week later, as he explains how the transformation will impact the aerodynamic performance of the car.
Lastly, Collins takes a look at how Mercedes have taken inspiration from Ferrari, and he explains why next weekend’s race in Barcelona will give the team a better understanding of their package and why we should expect new parts to come to the car in the coming races.
