The Monaco Grand Prix weekend delivered plenty of drama alongside a dollop of raw emotion, with Charles Leclerc claiming a famous home win for Ferrari. But alongside Leclerc’s joy there were plenty of other emotions on show – most of which played out over the team radio airwaves…
Max Verstappen was quick to voice his frustration with a bouncing car, and Sergio Perez joined in with the Mexican equally unhappy about how the RB20 was handling around the historic circuit. There were also plenty of complaints about traffic, with drivers turning the airwaves blue on occasion.
Zhou Guanyu hit the walls, George Russell struggled with his steering and Fernando Alonso dolled out some sarcastic remarks about his fellow countryman Carlos Sainz. Lando Norris decided his colleagues were idiots, and he wasn’t the only one to use that turn of phrase.
Roll on race day and there was frustration for Haas, pure anger from a disbelieving Pierre Gasly while, up front, the Ferrari boys were running the strategy. Leclerc was overjoyed when he crossed the line to win, while Toto Wolff had something special to say to George Russell.
