SAY WHAT?! Hamilton, Verstappen and Leclerc all feature in the best team radio from Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix provided plenty of entertainment, from overtakes to tricky strategy calls – not to mention the twin drama of both Ferrari cars suffering mechanical problems that meant neither made it to the chequered flag. From the desperate to the joyful, there were all sorts of emotions doing the rounds on the airwaves on Sunday…
Carlos Sainz sounded simply resigned when he parked up down an escape road with what proved to be a hydraulics issue, but Charles Leclerc was far more emotional as he scraped back to the pits with a power unit problem. Ferrari’s despair was in direct contrast to Red Bull’s jubilation, with Max Verstappen so comfortable in the lead he was able to debate exactly what lap time to aim for with his engineer.
Further back, Yuki Tsunoda was having all sorts of issues with his DRS, Zhou Gunayu was not impressed after another retirement and Lewis Hamilton was struggling with back pain in his bouncy Mercedes. And that's before Lando Norris expressed some frustration at team orders down at McLaren.
