F1 drivers lit up the airwaves once more across the 2023 campaign as they expressed their jubilation, frustration and confusion in equal measure, giving us plenty to choose from for our end-of-season compilation.

But after combing through the lot, our editors have picked out the top 20 messages that made it to broadcast from lights out at the Bahrain Grand Prix to the final chequered flag of the season in Abu Dhabi.

From George Russell mistaking sweat for rain in Spain to Max Verstappen’s brush with a lizard (nicknamed Godzilla’s kid by his engineer) in Singapore, there are plenty of clips to keep you entertained.

There was also Valtteri Bottas’ amusing description of the extreme wet weather in Canada, Fernando Alonso following the action on TV in Miami and AlphaTauri stand-in Liam Lawson’s caffeine-assisted strong start in Japan, along with much, much more.
