ROAD TO F1: Pourchaire becomes youngest-ever FIA F3 winner in Sprint Race

At 16-years-old, most teenagers are finishing their GCSEs but Theo Pourchaire is winning on a Formula 1 weekend. The Frenchman became Formula 3’s youngest victor in Race 2 on Sunday, benefiting from a late collision between leaders Liam Lawson and Jake Hughes.
Reverse polesitter Hughes was sluggish off the line and initially handed Pourchaire the lead from second. In his attempts to reclaim the position, he allowed Red Bull junior Lawson to squeeze through the middle of them both to take P1.

Lawson and Hughes spent the next 17 laps exchanging first place between them, as Pourchaire sat patiently in behind. Three laps from the end of the race, oversteer from Lawson race saw him slip on the curb and sent him into the side of Hughes.
The damage was only minor, but it proved enough to end both of their races and give Pourchaire a safety car escort to the finish line in first.
Further back, fifth place proved high enough for Renault Academy driver Oscar Piastri to keep his early lead in the Championship standings, ahead of his PREMA team mates Frederik Vesti and Logan Sargeant.
