Lewis Hamilton was outpaced on Saturday when his team mate Valtteri Bottas beat him to pole position for the Portuguese Grand Prix. But the seven-time world champion proved why he is such a serial winner when the lights went out on Sunday as he stormed to victory thanks to two crucial overtakes on Bottas and Max Verstappen.

The Mercedes man dropped to third after Verstappen got past him on an early Safety Car restart, but he fought back to re-take the position and then hunted down Bottas who was leading.
