The Briton, who the team say is feeling better, must now returning a negative test before boarding his flight back to the UK, as per government guidelines. Once back, he will isolate at his home close to the McLaren factory (MTC).
It is understood he will only travel to the MTC if really necessary, with the team to keep those visits to a minimum, while his schedule has been revised to ensure he still gets his training block in.
Norris will contest his third season with McLaren in 2021, lining up alongside new team mate Daniel Ricciardo who replaces Ferrari-bound Carlos Sainz.
He is one of five drivers – Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are the others – to have tested positive for Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
