‘It’s going to be insane’ – The drivers react to Las Vegas’s return to the F1 calendar
Formula 1 will return to the city of Las Vegas for the first time in over 40 years in 2023, with the Las Vegas Grand Prix set to feature on next year’s calendar.
Sure, that’s super-exciting for the fans. But if they were buzzing, the F1 drivers were even more so when we broke the news to them that they would be taking to Las Vegas’s famous Strip to race on a 6.12km street circuit in 2023.
“That’s going to be a pretty hardcore event,” said seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton when he found out – while AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly summed up many of the drivers’ responses, saying: “That’s going to be insane.”
Check out the reactions from Hamilton, Gasly, and other members of the F1 grid in the video up top.
