How Alonso's hunger for success still burns strong after two decades

When Fernando Alonso strolled through the paddock gates in Barcelona on Thursday morning, he was setting foot on ground that played host to a very special moment in his career – a first Grand Prix win on home soil that came 20 years ago.
A lot has happened since then. While he went on to win his second successive championship later that year with Renault, the next couple of decades haven't quite turned out as he would have hoped.
He has as yet failed to add to that tally despite two stints with McLaren, five years with Ferrari, two additional periods with Renault/Alpine before joining Aston Martin, where he is competing in his fourth season with the British team.
