It was a Ferrari one-two in the second practice session at Marina Bay as Carlos Sainz led the way ahead of team mate Charles Leclerc in a positive evening for the Scuderia.
On his qualifying simulation lap, Sainz set a time of 1m 42.587s to lead Leclerc by 0.208s, with George Russell third quickest. The Mercedes driver was 0.324s off Sainz – although Russell did encounter traffic on his first flying lap.
After spending much of the session in the pit lane, Max Verstappen put in a late lap to go up to fourth, ahead of Lewis Hamilton in fifth. Like his team mate, Hamilton was hampered by traffic on his first flying lap.
