Carlos Sainz topped the timesheets for Ferrari during Friday’s third and final practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix – an ultra-close affair that sets up the prospect of a thrilling qualifying hour.
Sainz’s best time of 1m 30.824s put him just over a tenth clear of fellow Spaniard Fernando Alonso in the lead Aston Martin, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen ending up third quickest.

Charles Leclerc backed up team mate Sainz in fourth position, despite a mistake on his final soft-shod lap, while McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes’ George Russell made it five different teams in the top six positions.
