One week ago Lewis Hamilton dug deep to produce an astonishing lap in near-monsoon conditions at the Red Bull Ring to seal pole position – and today he proved once again he was just as capable of the same brilliance on a dry track.

Look out also for Lance Stroll's brilliant run to third, and another excellent showing from George Russell who got his Williams into Q2 for the second successive week.

It was a less happy day for the Red Bull pair though, with Max Verstappen only seventh fastest on the track where he secured pole last year, while Alex Albon was eliminated in Q2 after a difficult session.
