HIGHLIGHTS: Relive Verstappen's Austin Sprint victory as both McLarens retire
The 2025 Formula 1 Drivers' Championship took a dramatic turn in the United States Grand Prix Sprint as Max Verstappen converted pole into victory, while a Turn 1 collision resulted in a pair of nil scores for McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Max Verstappen took his third consecutive Sprint victory at the Circuit of The Americas after title rivals Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri retired in an opening lap collision involving Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg.
Verstappen converted Sprint pole into victory with a dominant performance, despite feeling early pressure from George Russell.
The drama came instantly, as Hulkenberg, Piastri and Norris came together at Turn 1, causing the latter two drivers to retire.
In the chaos, Russell was able to climb from sixth to second, while Carlos Sainz found himself in third, ahead of the Ferraris of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
