Max Verstappen secured P1 during a frantic Sprint Shootout at the Red Bull Ring as Lewis Hamilton exited early in SQ3.
Red Bull secured a front-row lockout for the Sprint race in Austria – taking place at 1630 local time this afternoon – with Sergio Perez enjoying a much-needed uptick in form following his Friday qualifying troubles.

Instead, the troubles were felt by Mercedes in Saturday’s Shootout as Hamilton could only qualify P18 for the Sprint. His team mate George Russell also had problems of his own – despite reaching Q2, a hydraulics issue meant he was forced to stay in the garage, leaving him 15th.
Lando Norris backed up his qualifying performance yesterday, with another strong showing to take P3, while Haas’s Nico Hulkenberg takes an impressive P4.
