Max Verstappen claimed his 18th win of the season at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in an action-packed evening at the new Las Vegas Strip Circuit.
There was drama from the off when Verstappen overtook pole-sitter Charles Leclerc for the lead on Lap 1, with the Red Bull driver later handed a five-second time penalty for the move.

The lead changed hands more than once in the 50-lap encounter, with Verstappen, Leclerc and Sergio Perez all holding P1 before the battle between the three heated up in the closing stages. It was ultimately the world champion who came out on top, while Leclerc snatched P2 from Perez in the dying moments.
George Russell crossed the line in fourth, though was pushed down the order to eighth due to a five-second time penalty for an earlier collision with Verstappen. This promoted Esteban Ocon to fourth and Lance Stroll to an impressive fifth, with the Aston Martin having started from P19 on the grid.
Elsewhere there was an early Safety Car when Lando Norris suffered a heavy crash on Lap 4, before it was deployed again mid-race due to debris scattered on track from the contact between Verstappen and Russell.
