Max Verstappen topped the times in the opening practice session at the Belgian Grand Prix, leading last weekend's race winner Oscar Piastri and the Williams of Alex Albon.
With the Red Bull man facing a 10-place grid penalty for Sunday's race, Verstappen clocked a 1m 43.372s lap that put him just over half a second ahead of Piastri.

Elsewhere, Alpine's Esteban Ocon only managed one lap around the circuit with the team investigating a suspected water leak that brought about an early end to his session.
