F3: Colombo stripped of emotional maiden win as Ayumu Iwasa given victory in Hungary Race 1
Red Bull junior Ayumu Iwasa has scored his maiden Formula 3 win after Lorenzo Colombo – who finished first on track – was handed a post-race time penalty and stripped of victory.
The Italian had taken an emotional first win, dedicating it to late team owner Adrian Campos – the former Minardi Formula 1 driver, who was also known for playing a role in the rise of Fernando Alonso.

However, the Campos racer has since been handed a five-second time penalty and demoted to seventh, after he was found to have driven more than 10 car lengths behind the Safety Car.
Iwasa had crossed the line in second after pole-sitter Jonny Edgar was forced to retire. The Carlin Buzz driver suffering a disastrous morning, getting overtaken by Colombo before losing power and pulling to a stop.

Iwasa was unable to trouble Colombo on track but kept it clean and tidy, brushing off a challenge from the more experienced Olli Caldwell in third. The PREMA driver is promoted to second following the penalty and moves up to second in the standings after a difficult day for title rival Frederik Vesti.
The Mercedes Academy driver lost power and was forced to pull to a stop on the tarmac midway through the race, which drops him from second to fourth in the standings. Jack Doohan is up to third despite only scoring P9.
Red Bull junior Dennis Hauger made up four places on track to strengthen his grip on the Drivers’ Championship, claiming fifth, behind Logan Sargeant and Clement Novalak.
