F1 FANTASY: Strategist Preview – The Alpine Mini-League and what you need to know for the US, Mexico and Brazil
From the high-speed sweeps of COTA to the thin air of Mexico City and the compact chaos of Interlagos, which drivers and teams deserve a place in your F1 Fantasy line-up?

Formula 1 heads to the Americas for three consecutive weekends, and each one asks a different question of your F1 Fantasy line-up.
The Circuit of The Americas (COTA) rewards drivers who can manage tyre life through its high-speed sweeps, with the uphill run to Turn 1 and the back straight offering two of the best overtaking opportunities of the triple header. Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez sits at more than 2,200m, where thin air strips downforce and strains cooling, placing a premium on grid position and reliability. Interlagos then packs elevation change and a compact 4.3km (2.7-mile) lap into its first weekend without a Sprint since 2019.
Planning your approach across all three weekends together, rather than one at a time, can give players an edge. With three deadlines inside a fortnight, retaining enough cost-cap flexibility to react will position the best F1 Fantasy line-ups for this next run of races.
There's also the latest mini-league of the season to consider, the Alpine Mini-League, which launched this week and includes both the United States and Mexico City events with prizes on offer. The winner will receive a BWT Alpine Formula One Team 2026 mini helmet signed by Pierre Gasly – more details below.
It is never too late to join the free-to-play game and compete for prizes on offer every race week. New players simply need to select five drivers and two constructors within the starting cost cap of $100m.
If you need a reminder of all the action from last time out in Singapore to help you choose, watch the highlights below. Remember to lock in your teams before Qualifying begins in Austin at 1600 local time (2100 UTC), again in Mexico City at 1500 local time (2100 UTC), and in São Paulo at 1500 local time (1800 UTC).
Global League update
P1 surged to the top of the global leaderboard with a well-timed 3x Boost, a play that returned 418 points for the weekend and opened a 21-point gap to the chasing pack.
P2 slipped back from the lead but also backed Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, swayed by the pace both showed on Friday in Singapore. P3 took a chance on Isack Hadjar and his grid penalty, hunting the overtaking opportunities a recovery drive offers, but a retirement in the Sprint cut that ceiling short.
Beyond that, the top three look remarkably alike. Verstappen, Leclerc, Ollie Bearman, Nico Hulkenberg and Ferrari featured in all three line-ups, and active driver management remains the common theme at the very top with most chips now used by these highly ranked teams.
F1 Fantasy Strategist watchlist
Our F1 Fantasy Strategist evaluates seven in-game assets below and reviews potential chip strategies to help you challenge for the top step in F1 Fantasy’s global leaderboard.

Max Verstappen ($28.2m)
Verstappen arrives in Austin on back-to-back fantasy scores of 50 or more, built on victories in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and the Singapore Grand Prix. He has also claimed four Driver of the Day awards in a row, and a fifth at COTA would tie the record for consecutive wins in the category since its introduction in 2016, a mark that Verstappen set himself between Brazil 2025 and Australia 2026.
The Dutchman has also won four of the last five Grands Prix at the Circuit of The Americas, and finished on the podium in Mexico and Brazil in 2025, which makes him the most compelling 2x Boost candidate for the next three rounds.

Charles Leclerc ($24.1m)
Leclerc has returned to form at the right moment, scoring 33 fantasy points in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia before finishing inside the top three in every fantasy scoring session in Singapore. He sits second among all drivers for fastest laps this season with three, the most recent coming last time out.
Leclerc won at the Circuit of The Americas in 2024 and has stood on the podium in Mexico City in each of the last three years. Interlagos is the outlier – he has never finished on the podium there.

Liam Lawson ($9.9m)
Liam Lawson has recently secured back-to-back P7 finishes, resulting in 17.5 fantasy points per race, and averages 12.1 fantasy points across the season.
The New Zealander needs only a single fantasy point in Austin for a maximum $0.6m price rise, a threshold his current scoring rate should sufficiently clear.

Nico Hulkenberg ($6.6m)
Hulkenberg posted a season-high 19 fantasy points in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and followed it with 17 and a P8 finish in Singapore.
Even a score of -12 fantasy points in Austin would secure the veteran racer a seventh consecutive $0.6m price rise, and he averages 1.66 fantasy points per $1m since Austria – the best value of any driver in that period.

Ollie Bearman ($6.4m)
Bearman recorded 18 fantasy points in Singapore, his highest output since China, and added eight overtakes across the weekend.
The British driver averages 5.1 overtakes per race this season, and all three circuits slated for this triple header rank inside the top 10 for average overtakes across the last three years.
Other drivers to monitor: Lewis Hamilton, Esteban Ocon

Red Bull ($32.7m)
Red Bull head to the Americas on back-to-back Grand Prix victories. The team have also recorded the fastest pit stop among all teams at each of the last two race weekends, banking the five-point bonus on both occasions.
Through to Azerbaijan, the Milton Keynes-based team had reached double digits for fast pit stop points only once all season, and they have now done so in each of the last two weekends – a promising turnaround for this fantasy metric.

Ferrari ($28.2m)
Ferrari have posted scores of 80 and 90 fantasy points in back-to-back weekends, the first time they have reached 80 in consecutive rounds this season, and the second of those returned 3.3 points per $1m – the best value of any constructor in Singapore.
Fred Vasseur’s team have also put at least one car on the front row for the Grand Prix in each of the last three weekends, and if they can convert those grid positions across this run, it will maximise their points ceiling for the 41% of players who own them.
Other constructors to monitor: Mercedes, Racing Bulls

Triple-header chip strategy – Wildcard
The Wildcard chip grants unlimited transfers for a single deadline without spending your free transfers, making it the ideal tool for a full restructure of your line-up.
Singapore drew a significant migration of players towards Ferrari. Yet Red Bull won both of the last two Grands Prix and took the fastest pit stop bonus at each, while Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers’ Championship, and rebuilding around that from a Ferrari-weighted squad is a multi-transfer job.
Any transfer beyond your free allocation carries a 10-point penalty, and a significant line-up overhaul may attract additional transfer penalties, whereas the Wildcard removes them entirely for a single deadline. Three full practice sessions at each of these rounds hand you plenty of information before the teams lock, and the chip lets you react to that practice pace and act on all of it rather than limiting yourself to the one or two changes you can afford.
Featured leagues and upcoming mini-leagues
The latest F1 Fantasy mini-league is an Alpine special, running across both the United States and Mexico City rounds.
First place receives a BWT Alpine Formula One Team 2026 mini helmet signed by Pierre Gasly, second place takes home a Mexico City Grand Prix special edition cap also signed by the Frenchman, and third place receives an official Alpine team cap.
If you’re looking to gain an advantage in this mini-league, the Limitless and 3x Boost chips are the ones best placed to deliver it, and if you have been holding either back for the right moment, this could well be it. Only one chip can be played per race week, so using either in Austin or Mexico City rules out the Wildcard that weekend, though each maximises your points ceiling for the round in which it is played when built on the strongest fantasy performers.
As always, be sure to keep a close eye on the earlier sessions to help guide your decisions for drivers and teams in the lead-up to the team lock deadline.
