George Russell was pragmatic about his championship hopes when he faced the media in Madrid ahead of the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix at the new track.

The Mercedes racer has not beaten his sophomore team mate Kimi Antonelli since the British Grand Prix in July, with his most recent defeat the most painful as he watched the Italian fight back from 19th to take victory in Monza.

That leaves him 66 points adrift with 10 Grands Prix remaining. It's a tall order to reverse the momentum that sits with Antonelli and claw his way back into the fight, which is why he's just focused on taking it race-by-race.
