A race as revered as the Monaco Grand Prix deserves extra effort from the paddock, and it certainly looks like the grid hasn’t disappointed us for this year’s event. With helmet collaborations, special home race suits, and one-off landmark liveries, there are plenty of special designs to keep an eye on in Monte Carlo.

Let’s take a look at all the eye-catching efforts for this year’s race weekend...

McLaren livery and suits

A special occasion deserves a special livery – McLaren will become the second team to reach 1000 Grands Prix this weekend, and there isn’t a better place to celebrate than Monaco. Sixty years on from their maiden F1 campaign, McLaren released their orange-and-black scheme for Monaco and Barcelona, featuring nods to their illustrious history. Some of the years from their Championship victories are dotted all over the design – how many can you spot?

And of course, the drivers need to look the part for the glitz and glamour of the Principality, so special race suits were a must. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will both be in black for the weekend, continuing the theme of one-off McLaren designs in Monaco.

McLaren LEGO helmets

But the fun doesn’t stop there for the McLaren duo, as LEGO are back in the paddock with another exciting collaboration. Each driver has a new half-and-half helmet featuring their usual season design with some LEGO block additions and an orange McLaren 1000 pattern – you certainly won’t be missing the McLaren pair out on track!

Charles’ special suit and lid

It wouldn’t be his home race without a one-off race suit to mark the occasion. Proud Monegasque Charles Leclerc will be wearing the colours of his home race this weekend in the Principality, switching the usual racing red for a predominantly white suit with flashes of red down the sides and cuffs. And of course, he has a stunning red-and-white helmet to match!

If his recent home form is anything to go by, the special race suit might just inspire another spot on the podium. Leclerc has taken a win and a runner-up spot in the past two seasons, so he’ll no doubt be hoping the colours of his home bring him luck as he chases another victory here.

Audi’s tribute to a legend

Audi have a special livery and race suit of their own over the Monaco race weekend, with the German team paying tribute to one of motorsport's true legends, and a special part of their own history. Tazio Nuvolari, also known as "The Flying Mantuan", raced for around three decades during the first half of the 20th century, and is still widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest ever racing drivers.

So, it was no wonder Audi wanted to celebrate the Italian in Monaco, with his signature yellow taking centre stage on the cars and the race suits over Audi’s usual red as part of their tribute – a bold look for a bold driver.

Nico Hulkenberg has also got Nuvolari's yellow on his lid this weekend, along with some of the Italian's iconic shots and moments immortalised on his special Monaco lid.

Aston Martin’s colour-shifting livery and race suits

Monaco is the perfect location to roll out flashy livery designs, and Aston Martin have done just that. For this weekend only, the AMR26 will be swapping their signature emerald green for a special livery inspired by their “From Rock to Racetrack” campaign – said to trace the journey from metals and minerals from extraction all the way to the high-performance components that power modern sports like F1.

For this first-of-its-kind livery, the team has applied a colour-shifting coating to the car – which will visibly change as the AMR26 moves through the streets of Monaco and bring the transformation to life. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll’s race suits will carry a similar design, along with the helmets of the team in the garage – so watch out for the pit stops!

Hamilton's dazzling design

Three-time Monaco Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton knows about the Principality's passion for the extravagant, so it's no surprise his special helmet is perfectly on theme. The pink lid is impossible to miss as it glistens in the Monaco sun – a bedazzled look for the Ferrari man.

Williams suits

Williams will also debut special race suits and helmets in Monaco to mark their partnership with Claude – part of the ‘Pattern of Thought’ campaign. The team’s colours have been woven into a pixel-like pattern to produce an eye-catching helmet, while the suits contain a clean black and white look that will turn heads at the Principality.

Bottas’ badger helmet

Valtteri Bottas has worn plenty of unique designs over the years, but we’re sure this is one you won’t have seen before. Designed by his partner Tiffany Cromwell, this black-and-white lid is inspired by the ‘pet’ badger who visits Bottas every evening in Monaco to snack on some cat food – the pair have even named him Nigel! An unusual backstory for an awesome helmet.

Pierre red lid

To celebrate the launch of his new hydration drink, Pierre Gasly has a fresh helmet that will turn heads in the grandstands. The striking red design features white tones around the back, making Gasly very easy to spot all weekend long.

Kimi's seafront helmet

Current World Championship leader Kimi Antonelli has brought a fresh new design to the Principality, and with its blue and white tones, it's clear the Italian has been inspired by the seafront location. The design also features a rainbow Mercedes logo, blue stars on the side, and Antonelli's number 12 in the colours of the Italian flag.
