HIGHLIGHTS: Watch as Verstappen eclipses team mate Perez to win Miami Grand Prix
The Sunshine State saw plenty of action from start to finish in the second ever Miami Grand Prix on Sunday as Max Verstappen took the chequered flag ahead of team mate Sergio Perez.
From pole position, Perez led Fernando Alonso away at the start while, further back, Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton hit trouble. Meanwhile, Lando Norris was tapped by Nyck de Vries on Lap 1 and home hero Logan Sargeant picked up damage too.
Pole-sitter Perez, who started on medium compounds, ended up pitting before the halfway mark as hard-tyred starter Verstappen inherited the lead, having started in P9 and recovered to P2. That set up a blockbuster battle between the team mates and championship rivals at the end of the race, after Verstappen pitted on Lap 46 and Perez re-took the lead.
Perez tried his best to stay ahead on his worn set of hard compounds but Verstappen, with the advantage of new medium compounds, made it past with a terrific pass at Turn 1. Alonso completed the podium while George Russell battled up to P4 for Mercedes.
