An overcast Albert Park was the scene for a fascinating third practice session at the Australian Grand Prix, which saw McLaren’s Lando Norris surprisingly set the fastest time ahead of qualifying.
Norris clocked a time of 1m 19.117s on the C5 soft tyres, 0.132s ahead of world championship leader Charles Leclerc, with Sergio Perez a further 0.148s behind the Monegasque in third place.
Also impressing in the session was Fernando Alonso, who set the fourth fastest time in the session ahead of compatriot Carlos Sainz in P5, with home favourite Daniel Ricciardo finishing in sixth.
